Palermo-Montecarlo offshore race just been cancelled

The Circolo della Vela Sicilia announces that the XVI edition of the Palermo-Montecarlo, organized in collaboration with the Yacht Club de Monaco and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, has been canceled due to the complications related to the health crisis caused by the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Therefore, the appointment with the XVI Palermo-Montecarlo is postponed to August 2021.
"We all feel very sorry but given the situation we are experiencing, we could only opt for the cancellation of the regatta," explains with regret Agostino Randazzo, President of the Circolo della Vela Sicilia. “In these cases, many careful global assessments must be made. We must consider the uncertainty that still define our future and currently does not allow us to plan the club's activities in the coming months. Without forgetting who is suffering from this tragic situation, our thoughts also go to the doctors, nurses and health workers on the front line to fight this emergency, people to whom we give all our support and our full proximity. Right now the priority is to defeat the Covid-19 and all together we must all commit ourselves in this direction".
