Palermo-Montecarlo: and the winners are....
Montecarlo, August 26 2018With the prizegiving scheduled for 8 pm today at the Yacht Club Monaco premises, the XIV edition of the Palermo-Montecarlo offhsore race - last leg of the IMA Mediterranean Maxi Offshore Challenge - has already named her winners: overall winner, first in IRC, is french Ker 46 "Tonnerre de Glen", owner Dominique Tian; George David' maxi "Rambler 88", Line Honours winner, won the "Trofeo Giuseppe Tasca d'Almerita". Onboard Rambler, Brad Butterworth, Silvio Arrivabene and Alberto Bolzan. Rambler was also the first boat to cross the gate off Porto Cervo on August 23, while italian maxi "Atalanta II" - owner Carlo A. Puri Negri - is the first boat in IRC to cross the same gate.
The Palermo-Montecarlo 2018 was organised by Circolo della Vela Sicilia in conjunction with Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and Yacht Club de Monaco. 54 boats entered and 44 crossed the finish line off Montecarlo, after sailing 500 nautical miles.
