Rolex Middle Sea Race: Line Honours to ESIMIT EUROPA 2
October 21, 2014Esimit Europa 2 (SLO) has claimed Line Honours in the 2014 Rolex Middle Sea Race.
Crossing the finish line in Malta’s Marsamxett Harbour at 22:47.05 CEST on Tuesday night, October 21, the 100-ft supermaxi skippered by German legend Jochen Schümann completed the 606-nm course in 82 hours, 42 minutes and 5 seconds.
This is the fourth Line Honours win for IMA Member Igor Simcic and his team in the Rolex Middle Sea Race, after the victories of 2010, 2011 and 2012.
George David’s Rambler set - in 2007 - the course record completing the race in 47 hours, 55 minutes and 03 seconds.
