In memory of Gianfranco Alberini

Gianfranco Alberini, a great yachtsman and a true gentlemen has been a key person, driving the growth and the success of the IMA, besides all the many other important contributions to yachting he has made thru his many years in office. His continuous endeavors have been well recognized by all of us and we are very thankful. Our sport would be much different today, without him. He is leaving a huge hole behind and will be recognized by all of us.

Please pass on my deepest sympathy and condolences to Mrs. Giovanna Alberini and his daughter Federica. When thinking about the passing of a friend, I always imagine him to set sail on his yacht and sail out to sea. When reaching the horizon, we will not see him any more, but he is still there. And on the other side of the ocean, he will be welcomed by old and new friends. And most certainly, one day we will follow him...

I think that we all should be very happy for the many years we could spent with him.
