During the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, the Annual General Meeting of the IMA Members took place in Porto Cervo with the presence of a large number of participants.

The main decisions of the AGM were:

-          the IMA is confirmed as a Corinthian Owners Association. However some flexibility was given to each category of maxi to have special regulations when the category is separately scored;

-          the presence of Mini Maxi Racing boats that are not owner driven was accepted at the IMA events with a separate scoring;

-          the Association selected the RORC as the only Rating Authority for Maxi rating certificates.

-          the ATO will appoint and certify a certain number of measurers to be utilized for the Class activities

-          a Supermaxi category was introduced for maxi boats over 30.50 metres and with no upper limit

Each category will now decide its own regulations.

For the Mini Maxi,  is under consideration the postponement of the World Championship to 2011 in order to have another year of experiments. The LOA range will probably be reduced grandfathering the existing boats.

No major changes are expected for the other categories.
